“We desire his return” – Xavi is eager for the 23-year-old to rejoin Barcelona

After joining Girona on loan from Barcelona in the summer of last year, the 23-year-old has been playing exceptionally well for the Catalan team this season, making 26 appearances and scoring three goals.

Girona is presently third in the rankings, two points behind second-place Barcelona ahead of their matchup on Saturday. Garcia has been a major factor in Girona’s success in La Liga.

Although there have been rumors that the Spaniard would relocate permanently to Girona this summer, Xavi has disclosed that the team intends for him to return at the conclusion of the current season.

“He was a part of Barcelona. Since it was only fair, he didn’t want him to go. We hope he returns,” the Barcelona.

Barcelona wants Eric Garcia back this summer.

Garcia joined Manchester City in 2017 after going through Barcelona’s development system. Before returning to Camp Nou, he made 35 appearances for the Premier League team.

Before going on loan to Girona, the center-back made 70 appearances for Barcelona, and it looks that Xavi has him firmly in his sights for the future at the team.

In order to maintain their lead in the La Liga championship race, Barcelona must defeat Girona on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti’s team would be officially crowned champions with four games remaining if they were to drop points in the Catalan derby and Real Madrid defeated Cadiz.

Xavi is seeking “revenge” on Girona.

The Barcelona manager has also stated that his team will “seek revenge” on Saturday after losing the rematch by a score of 4-2 earlier in the season.

“A champion Girona. They are excellent in one-on-one situations and possess great movement on the field, so the match is sure to be tough. “This season has been extraordinary,” he continued.

“We want retribution for the first round, but there is no rivalry between Michel and me. They used a lot of force, and we struggled to adapt and protect the area.

“For the past three months, we have been competing really well. We are now better in a lot of areas. There is only one way to compete the way we have been lately.”
