Texas A&M University head football coach Mike Elko announced his retirement today. Elko, who returned to the Aggies after a successful stint as head coach at Duke, cited personal reasons for his decision.
“This was not an easy decision, but I believe it is the right one for me and my family at this time,” Elko said in a statement released by the university.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have coached at Texas A&M, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together. I wish the Aggies all the best in the future.”
