Texas State University’s athletic department has announced an investigation into allegations of hate speech against G.J. Kinne, the head coach of the Texas State Bobcats football team. The allegations surfaced after a video recording was shared on social media, capturing Kinne using derogatory language during a team meeting.
The university’s administration swiftly responded to the allegations, stating that they take all accusations of hate speech seriously and are committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
“We are aware of the allegations against Coach Kinne and take them very seriously,” said Texas State University’s Athletic Director, Don Coryell. “We will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter, and if the allegations are substantiated, we will take appropriate action.”
The investigation, led by the university’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, aims to determine the validity of the allegations and assess whether Kinne’s behavior violated the university’s policies and codes of conduct.
