JUST IN: New York Rangers Star Forward Earlier Today Expresses Frustration Over Contract Disputes Following…

According to Frank Seravalli, forward Alexis Lafrenière and the New York Rangers have reached an agreement on a seven-year, $54.15 million contract.

According to several rumors, the Rangers and Lafrenière were nearing an agreement, therefore it was anticipated that this contract would be formalized in the coming days.

Lafrenière is one of the NHL’s up-and-coming talents, and the Rangers won this contract overall because they were able to sign him for an AAV of $7.45 million, which is less than the initial estimate of about $8 million.

With four goals and three assists in the team’s opening games, he is off to a scorching start for the New York Rangers this season.

Last night against the Florida Panthers, the left-handed Lafrenière scored his fourth goal of the season. He has also scored against Detroit, Toronto, and Pittsburgh. Adam Fox was on the other side of the ice as Lafrenière rang the puck around the boards.

Lafreniere beats Sergei Bobrovsky to score against the defending Stanley Cup champions after Fox won a board battle and picked a pass out in front of him.

Lafrenière will be able to earn another large salary during his career thanks to the seven-year contract, which will extend him into his age-30 season. Given that similar players like Tim Stützle and Juraj Slafkovský obtained contracts worth at least $8 million AAV, this transaction is a huge victory for the Rangers.

With their cornerstone player and former first overall pick now secured, the Rangers will turn their attention to Igor Shesterkin’s contract.
