Following last weekend’s slate, the Colorado football program was the only team to get a single vote in the AP Poll Top 25. Following an incredible and utterly convincing road triumph over the UCF Knights, the Colorado Buffaloes are now 3-1 and getting closer to earning a ranking for the first time since early in the previous campaign.
Colorado’s usage of the transfer portal, along with the fact that they are home to two-way megastar Travis Hunter, star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and head coach Deion Sanders, garnered a lot of interest during the off-season for the second straight year.
The Buffaloes continue to draw fans, skeptics, and outright hatemongers every time they appear on national television. When UCF hosted Colorado football last Saturday for their conference home opener, the former Pac-12 team was greeted with a sea of jeers.
According to SkoBuffsGOBuffs on Twitter:
Travis Hunter on fans chanting “F— Colorado” at the UCF game:
“Y’all all here to see us and say f— Colorado. Who else are y’all here to see?”
Fans screamed derogatory remarks at the visiting squad as Colorado football headed out of the tunnel for their away game against the UCF Knights. Superstar two-way player Travis Hunter, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious and thought the Colorado Buffaloes were the major attraction in the Big 12 matchup.
The fans of UCF made every effort to put a dent in Hunter and company’s play, but Colorado prevailed 48–21, amassing 418 yards with just one turnover.
Hunter continued to add to his stellar 2024 season, his second with Colorado football. He caught 9-of-10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he added two tackles and an interception. Hunter leads the FBS for the season with 46 receptions and six receiving touchdowns.
He also has 16 tackles, three PBUs, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery.
