Organizers of Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy, is currently under serious fire from Nigerians who are raging on social media platforms.
Recall the Grammy Awards days ago, introduced three new categories which include Best African Music Performance, Best Pop Dance Recording, and Best Alternative Jazz Album to their 2024’s award show.
Taking to their social media page moments ago, the Academy shared some photos of some “up-and-coming black artist everyone should have on their radar” and both Nigerian afrobeat superstar, Wizkid and Mavin signee, Rema made the list.
This did not sit well with some Nigerians, especially Wizkid’s fans who considered it demeaning given the singer’s status as one of the most successful music artistes in Africa. They took to social media to lampoon the organizers for making such ridiculous post.
In other news, Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid has bragged about having a lot of hit tracks in his catalogue.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner said that his only problem is that he has released too many hit songs throughout his career.
The Grammy-winning artiste stated this on Sunday night after he mounted the stage at the AfroNation 2023 concert in Miami, Florida
