During the 2024 Summer Olympics, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles were two of Team USA’s top stars. However, something they did during the Games irritated renowned cornerback Marlon Humphrey of the Baltimore Ravens.
When Humphrey posted the controversial statement, “This is literally disgusting,” on the picture of Biles and Chiles submitting to Brazilian gymnast Rebecca Andrade after she took first place in the women’s artistic floor event, it went viral on social media.
Fans were undoubtedly not happy with Humphrey’s remark, but he isn’t taking anything back. When Humphrey was given the chance to speak, he just used the picture to rationalize his point of view and explain his train of thought.
“I was like, ‘What the frick?’ when I went on Twitter. Why do we submit to anyone? God, this is America—why are we submitting to this other nation? To be honest, I had no idea what country that was.
I was just thinking, “This is crazy,” from an ethical and human sense, when I saw two people bowing. should only ever submit to God and no man.”
“I thought, ‘Golly, this is crazy.'” “Dang, that’s Simone Biles,” I tweeted in response to that. I could be fried by the army of Biles. I’m obviously not a gymnast guy. I was unaware of her possible army.
