Quarterback recruiting in the 2025 cycle was an adventure for Auburn, but it paid off big time for Hugh Freeze and the Tigers in the end.
After taking myriad visits to The Plains during the fall, Lucedale (Miss.) George County QB Deuce Knight finally flipped from Notre Dame at the beginning of October. Headlining an impressive haul, Knight was named a five-star prospect in the final 2025 On300 recruiting rankings on Thursday.
The 6-foot-4.5, 208-pounder was ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect and No. 6 QB in the cycle, cementing his status as one of the nation’s top signal-callers as he heads into the SEC.
As a senior, Knight threw for over 2,200 yards and 25 touchdowns to just five interceptions. While he wasn’t fully healthy for the entire season, the left-hander still looked the part in Mississippi. Back in the summer, he earned On3 MVP honors at the prestigious Elite 11 event in Los Angeles.
