In a candid interview, music legend and Indiana native Janet Jackson shared her thoughts on former Indiana Hoosiers basketball star Cody Zeller, calling him “a disappointment” during his time with the team.
Jackson, a longtime Hoosiers fan, expressed her frustration with Zeller’s performance, saying: “I expected so much more from him. He had all the potential in the world, but he never seemed to live up to it. He was a disappointment, and it was hard to watch him struggle like that.”
Zeller, who played for the Hoosiers from 2011-2013, was a highly touted recruit and expected to lead the team to greatness. However, his time in Bloomington was marked by inconsistency and unmet expectations.
Jackson’s comments have sparked a debate among Hoosiers fans, with some agreeing that Zeller failed to meet expectations, while others defend his contributions to the team.
Despite the criticism, Zeller has gone on to have a successful NBA career, playing for the Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers. However, for Hoosiers fans like Janet Jackson, his time in Indiana will always be remembered as a missed opportunity.
