BREAKING: No. 7 OT Lamont Rogers sets decision date

As the Texas Longhorns continue to target Lewisville consensus five-star prospect Michael Fasusi as Kyle Flood’s top target along the offensive line, head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are trying to make a late surge with Mesquite Horn offensive tackle Lamont Rogers to add an elite prospect to the class ahead of Fasusi’s decision.

And that could happen on Saturday when Rogers chooses between the Longhorns, the Florida State SeminolesMissouri TigersOklahoma Sooners, SMU Mustangs, and Texas A&M Aggies, he announced on Thursday.

During the spring official visit period, Rogers was hosted by each of his six finalists, including a trip to Austin on June 14, a chance for the Longhorns to surge into contention with the 6’6.5, 311-pounder after seemingly spending previous months on the outside looking in to his recruitment.

Texas officially entered contention for Rogers as his recruitment took off in the months after his sophomore season, extending an offer in late January 2022. Missouri offered late — nearly a full year after Texas — but is considered a legitimate option for Rogers. In the hours after Rogers announced his decision date, however, there aren’t any 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for the nation’s No. 7 offensive tackle. In the On3 RPM, though, the Tigers hold 59.8 percent of the predictions.
