BREAKING: 4-star in-state DL decommits from Alabama football’s 2026 recruiting class…

Alabama football’s 2026 recruiting class lost its lone commitment on Monday. According to a report from On3′s Chad Simmons, Parker defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland has decommitted.

Cleveland shared the news to his own social media accounts after the report.

Cleveland committed to the Crimson Tide in late October. He is ranked as a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite ratings, which tab him as the No. 9 defensive lineman in the class, No. 91 overall player.

On signing day for the class of 2025, Cleveland told AL.com that he was looking forward to joining the Crimson Tide, and didn’t plan on changing his commitment.

“I love coach (Freddie) Roach and coach (Kalen) DeBoer,” Cleveland said at the time. “Coach Roach has been with me for over two years. He always has a smile on his face, but he knows when to go to work.”

Cleveland’s departure from the class leaves the Crimson Tide with no players left in the group. The class will be DeBoer’s second full cycle as UA’s head coach.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Cleveland has a plethora of other offers to choose from, still including Alabama. The list includes Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC and Texas A&M.

Cleveland and his Parker teammates recently finished up their season by winning the 6A state championship over Saraland. Alabama’s 2024 campaign still has one more game to go, a Dec. 31 ReliaQuest Bowl matchup with Michigan in Tampa.
