Alabama Fans Get Major Update on QB Jalen Milroe’s College Football Future…

With a 9-3 record at the end of the 2024 regular season, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered their most losses since 2010. Along with being the first season without Nick Saban since 2006, it also signaled the beginning of a new era under head coach Kalen DeBoer.

The season had its ups and downs, highlighted by big wins over Georgia, South Carolina, and Missouri but also disappointing losses to Tennessee and two six-win teams, Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.

Much of Alabama’s season revolved around the play of redshirt junior quarterback Jalen Milroe. In the Tide’s three losses, Milroe struggled, throwing a combined six interceptions and rushing for just 28 yards.

Fans are left wondering as the season draws to a close if Milroe will declare for the NFL draft or return to Tuscaloosa for his last year of eligibility. Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports believes Milroe will be selected outside of the first round, despite other pundits projecting him as a late first- or second-round pick.

“Multiple sources have told Bama 247 that the current expectation is that Milroe will announce his intention to turn pro after the season,” Scarborough reported. “A source stressed that a final decision about his future won’t come until after the bowl game, though, as Milroe is putting all his focus and energy into finishing the season with a win.”

As Alabama prepares to face Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve, Milroe addressed the speculation but didn’t give much away.

“My thought process right now is to finish this game out,” Milroe said.

Milroe, a native of Katy, Texas, has spent four seasons with the Crimson Tide, starting in two of them. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound quarterback came to Alabama as a four-star recruit (247 Sports) in the class of 2021.

In 2024, he threw for 2,652 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while also rushing for 719 yards and 20 touchdowns.
