Frontman Bruce Dickinson stated that the song draws directly from the biblical story of “the writing on the wall” as a metaphor for current global events. “We saw parallels between ancient warnings and what’s happening today—whether it’s political turmoil, environmental crises, or the rise of technology that divides rather than unites us,” Dickinson said.
