The University of Louisville Athletics Department announced today that it will terminate standout wide receiver Jaelin Carter’s contract due to misconduct.
Carter, a junior from Radcliff, Kentucky, was involved in an off-field incident that violated team and university policies. While specifics remain undisclosed, sources confirm it involved inappropriate behavior.
“We take these allegations seriously and hold our student-athletes to high standards,” said Louisville Athletics Director, Josh Heird. “Jaelin’s actions fell short of our expectations.”
Head Coach Scott Satterfield expressed disappointment: “Jaelin’s talent on the field is overshadowed by his poor decision-making. We cannot tolerate behavior detrimental to the team.”
Carter had 67 receptions for 943 yards and 7 touchdowns in his two seasons with the Cardinals. His departure leaves a void in Louisville’s receiving corps.
Fellow receivers DeAndre Moore and Chris Bell will likely see increased playing time. Coach Satterfield emphasized the team’s commitment to moving forward.
The University of Louisville has strict policies regarding student-athlete conduct. Carter’s termination serves as a reminder of these expectations.
Carter’s NFL prospects are now uncertain due to the termination. His agent has not commented on potential next steps.
The university’s investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Further details may emerge as the inquiry concludes.
The Louisville Cardinals will focus on their upcoming season, beginning with their opener against Georgia Tech.
