5-Star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho announced his commitment to Texas A&M this weekend, stunning a host of other top programs, including Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
Iheanacho, a 6-foot-7, 345-pound behemoth from Georgetown Preparatory School in Maryland, is considered one of the most coveted recruits in the 2026 class. His commitment is a major coup for the Aggies, who have been steadily building momentum on the recruiting trail under head coach Jimbo Fisher.
“It just felt right,” Iheanacho said at a press conference on Sunday. “Coach Fisher and his staff made me feel like family from the moment I stepped on campus. The facilities are top-notch, and I love the direction of the program.”
Iheanacho’s decision comes as a major blow to the other schools that were heavily involved in his recruitment. Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma were all considered to be the favorites at various points, but Iheanacho ultimately decided that Texas A&M was the best fit for him.
“It was a tough decision,” Iheanacho admitted. “I have a lot of respect for all the coaches who recruited me. But in the end, I felt like Texas A&M was the best place for me to develop as a player and a person.”
Iheanacho’s commitment is a major boost for the Aggies’ offensive line, which has been a strength for the team in recent years. He is expected to be an immediate impact player when he arrives on campus in 2026.
The Aggies are now one of the favorites to win the national championship in 2026. With Iheanacho on board, they will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
