Indiana Secures Commitment from Highly Touted 7-foot-6 Prospect, Flipping Him from Duke

Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball is now riding a four-game winning streak after defeating Minnesota 82-67 in their Big Ten opener on Monday night inside Simon Skjdot Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

Indiana was led in scoring by Oumar Ballo with 18 points, Bryson Tucker and Malik Reneau also had 16 as IU beat the Golden Gophers in conference play.

The Hoosiers didn’t shoot often or well from long distance, but they were dominant inside the arc, making 26-of-39 shots, good for 67%. IU also dominated on the boards out rebounding Minnesota by 13 boards.

Minnesota started the game 11-of-15 from the field, then made just 3-of-18, and then finished 12-of-22 and never got within more than 9 points.

“The Big Ten is real,” Galloway said. “Anybody can win on any given night. You got to be prepared and practice with urgency and with a purpose.”

The Hoosiers travel to Nebraska for a Friday night game in Lincoln. It’s their last B1G game of the month before closing out the year with Chattanooga and Winthrop.
