Alabama football has seen three wide receivers enter the NCAA’s Transfer Portal. On Monday, the 20-day portal window opened and Kalen DeBoer and company are aggressively pursuing some roster upgrades to get back to the College Football Playoff after a disappointing 9-3 season in 2024.
One of the early targets for DeBoer and company is a former ACC freshman of the year. NC State’s KC Concepcion is in the portal and is one of the top wide receivers available.
As a freshman in Raleigh, Concepcion had 839 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with 320 rushing yards. His production dipped as a sophomore with NC State’s struggles at QB following the injury to Grayson McCall. He finished with 460 receiving yards and six touchdowns, adding two rushing touchdowns on 36 yards.
Concepcion is a speedy receiver who would be a perfect compliment to Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard and give the Crimson Tide that No. 3 option at WR it could never really find in 2024.
According to reports, Concepcion is going to be in College Station for a visit with Texas A&M on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Tuscaloosa to visit Alabama Thursday through Saturday.
Things are heating up in the portal with the window officially opening. The Tide will see more players depart, but DeBoer and company will be aggressive in their first real opportunity to flip the roster since arriving in town.
