The Minnesota Lynx are introducing an exciting new offensive strategy, which is set to refresh the team’s dynamic and improve its overall scoring efficiency. Led by head coach Cheryl Reeve, this scheme is designed to capitalize on the unique talents of the Lynx’s roster, particularly their versatility in both individual creation and team play.
One of the core features of this new strategy is the emphasis on pace and space, allowing the Lynx to create more opportunities for quick transitions and open shots. This approach utilizes faster ball movement and spacing to maximize scoring options, helping to open lanes for both drives and perimeter shooting.

This offensive overhaul will also make use of some more advanced actions like the Spain pick-and-roll and the Ram screen. The Spain action, in particular, will generate opportunities for quick ball movement, with the screener setting a back screen for another player, thus pulling the defense apart. The Ram screen will put pressure on defenders, making it harder for them to recover after switching, potentially leading to wide-open shots or easy baskets.
