Austin Peay State University Women’s Basketball Inks Four to…

Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team has added significant talent to its roster, signing four promising players to its 2025 recruiting class. Head coach Brittany Young and her staff have emphasized versatility and athleticism in their recruiting efforts, building a foundation for sustained success in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The class is headlined by Madison Carter, a dynamic 6-foot guard from Memphis, Tennessee. Known for her scoring ability and court vision, Carter averaged 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game in her junior season. “Madison is a game-changer,” Coach Young said. “Her ability to create her own shot and facilitate for others makes her a perfect fit for our system.”

Joining Carter is Tiana Ramirez, a 6-foot-2 forward from Atlanta, Georgia. Ramirez is celebrated for her defensive prowess and rebounding tenacity. She averaged a double-double last season, posting 15 points and 12 rebounds per game while adding nearly three blocks per contest. “Tiana’s presence in the paint will be a huge asset for us,” Young stated. “She brings toughness and a winning mentality.”

The third signee, Sophie Nguyen, is a sharpshooting guard from Louisville, Kentucky. Known for her deadly accuracy beyond the arc, Nguyen hit 42% of her three-point attempts last season, making her one of the most feared perimeter players in the region. “Sophie’s shooting will stretch defenses and open up opportunities for our offense,” said Young.

Rounding out the class is Emma Bradley, a versatile 5-foot-11 wing from Evansville, Indiana. Bradley is a jack-of-all-trades, excelling in scoring, defense, and playmaking. Her high basketball IQ and leadership skills have drawn praise from scouts and coaches alike. “Emma’s versatility will allow us to use her in multiple roles,” Young explained.

This signing class represents a strategic effort by the APSU coaching staff to address specific team needs while securing a mix of talent that will help the program compete at a high level. “We’re thrilled with this group,” Young said. “They’re not only exceptional players but also outstanding individuals who embody the values of Austin Peay basketball.”

Fans and analysts have already taken notice of the strong recruiting haul, with many praising the team’s focus on skill diversity and athletic potential. The incoming class is expected to make an immediate impact when they arrive on campus.

As the Governors continue to build momentum, this 2025 class stands as a testament to the program’s commitment to excellence. With an exciting blend of talent and determination, the future looks bright for APSU women’s basketball.
