Texas Rangers trade deadline tracker: Latest moves, transactions
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers entered Tuesday’s trade deadline at 52-55 and 3.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West.
And so despite a rocky season so far, the defending World Series champions are still in a position to make a run to the playoffs. Whether that means a flurry of activity ahead of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline or not, remains to be seen.
Heading into Tuesday’s deadline, Texas had already made a pair of trades, landing Tigers catcher Carson Kelly for prospects on Sunday and then sending away starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen to the Royals for a prospect on Monday.
The Rangers were also busy on the transaction wires in another way — getting guys back from injury.
Third baseman Josh Jung and pitcher Cody Bradford returned from the Injured List on Monday, and utilityman Ezequiel Duran was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
Here is a look at all of the deadline deals and key transactions the Rangers have made in recent days.
