Giacomo Agostini Predicts 2024 MotoGP Champion: ‘I’ve Got a Feeling About This Rider’

In a recent interview, MotoGP legend Giacomo Agostini shared his thoughts on the ongoing 2024 season, revealing his prediction for who will come out on top. The 15-time world champion, known for his sharp insights and deep understanding of the sport, has singled out reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia as the rider to beat. Agostini believes that Bagnaia, currently riding for Ducati, has what it takes to defend his title despite the intense competition.

“Pecco [Bagnaia] is riding at a level that reminds me of some of the greatest champions,” Agostini said. “He has the right balance of aggression and maturity, and his confidence is growing with every race. If he continues to perform like this, he will be the man to beat for the championship.”

Agostini’s remarks come at a crucial time, as the 2024 season reaches its midpoint and the battle for the title intensifies. Bagnaia currently finds himself in a heated contest with rivals like Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Martín, both of whom have shown impressive form. However, Agostini believes that the Italian’s consistency and his team’s ability to develop the bike could give him an edge as the season progresses.

“Fabio and Jorge are both incredibly talented and will keep pushing Pecco to the limit,” Agostini continued. “But when it comes down to those crucial moments, Bagnaia has shown that he can handle the pressure. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him lifting the trophy again.”

The endorsement from Agostini, one of the sport’s most decorated figures, will no doubt add to the weight of expectation on Bagnaia’s shoulders. However, the 27-year-old appears more determined than ever to cement his status as MotoGP’s top rider. As the season moves toward its final stretch, fans and pundits alike will be closely watching to see if Agostini’s prediction comes true.
