Deep Purple Announce New Album and 2025 World Tour Featuring Classic Lineup and Unreleased Tracks
Legendary rock band Deep Purple has thrilled fans worldwide by announcing the release of a brand-new album, along with a 2025 world tour that will see the iconic lineup back together on stage. The upcoming album, which remains untitled, promises to include a mix of fresh material and previously unreleased tracks, some dating back to the band’s classic era in the 1970s.
The tour, set to kick off in May 2025, will span over 40 cities across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Australia, with dates to be announced soon. The band’s classic lineup, featuring Ian Gillan on vocals, Roger Glover on bass, Ian Paice on drums, Steve Morse on guitar, and Don Airey on keyboards, is reuniting for this special occasion. This announcement marks the first time the classic lineup will share the stage since the band’s “Infinite” tour in 2017, when guitarist Steve Morse took a brief hiatus due to personal reasons.
Fans can expect to hear new material from the upcoming album, as well as classic Deep Purple hits such as “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” and “Child in Time.” The band has hinted at a few surprises in the setlist, with deep cuts and songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.
In a recent interview, frontman Ian Gillan expressed his excitement about the reunion and the new album: “We’ve had a lot of fun putting this new record together. It’s a mix of where we’ve been and where we’re headed, and we think the fans are going to love it. Getting back on the road with these guys feels like coming home. We’re ready to bring the house down once again.”
The forthcoming album is currently in the final stages of production, with the band working closely with veteran producer Bob Ezrin, who previously collaborated with Deep Purple on their last few records. The band’s loyal fanbase is eagerly anticipating this release, which is expected to capture the raw energy and classic sound that has defined Deep Purple for over five decades.
Tickets for the 2025 world tour will go on sale next month, with pre-sale options available for fan club members. More details regarding the album’s release date and the complete tour itinerary are expected in the coming weeks. Fans should stay tuned for what promises to be a monumental year for Deep Purple, as the rock legends prepare to reignite stages around the globe.
