Breaking News: Tahj Brooks Suspended for Season Opener Due to NCAA Eligibility Issue

According to a statement released by Texas Tech Athletics, Brooks’ suspension stems from a review of his academic credentials.

We are working closely with the NCAA to resolve this matter and ensure Tahj’s eligibility moving forward, said Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt.

Brooks, a junior, was expected to be a key player for the Red Raiders this season after rushing for over 1,000 yards in 2023.

Obviously, this news is disappointing, but we have faith in our depth at running back,” said Head Coach Joey McGuire.

The NCAA eligibility issue surrounds Brooks’ high school transcript, sources close to the program revealed.

Texas Tech is appealing the NCAA’s decision, but no timeline has been set for a resolution.

Brooks’ absence will be felt, but teammates remain confident in the team’s ability to perform without him.

As the Red Raiders prepare for their season opener, focus shifts to Dorman and the revamped offense…..
