San Francisco 49ers have made a significant roster adjustment, placing star safety Talanoa Hufanga on the injured reserve list following an undisclosed injury.
Hufanga, known for his dynamic playmaking ability and leadership on defense, is expected to miss several weeks as he recovers, dealing a blow to the 49ers’ secondary.
In response, the team has promoted rookie tight end Brayden Willis to the active roster. Willis, drafted in 2024 out of Oklahoma, has shown promise during his time on the practice squad and will now have the opportunity to contribute on game days.
Known for his versatility and strong blocking skills, Willis could provide added depth to both the 49ers’ offense and special teams.
While the loss of Hufanga is a setback for San Francisco’s defense, the team remains optimistic about the young talent they have at their disposal, and all eyes will be on Willis as he steps into this new role.
