According to sources close to the program, Rucker made a surprise visit during a critical recruiting weekend, meeting with top prospects and their families. His deep connection to the university and his passion for the Gamecocks left a lasting impression on the players.
“Having Darius Rucker there was unreal,” said one recruit. “He’s a legend, and just seeing how much he cares about the Gamecocks made us feel like we’d be joining a real family here.”
