San Diego State University’s (SDSU) men’s basketball team has been embroiled in a rift between head coach Brian Dutcher and key players. According to sources close to the program, Dutcher delivered a stern message to select players, labeling their recent behavior as “unacceptable.”
The Aztecs, touted as contenders for the Mountain West Conference title, have been struggling to find consistency on the court. Dutcher’s words, though intended to spark change, have reportedly created tension within the locker room.
In a closed-door meeting, Dutcher confronted several players about their alleged lack of commitment and discipline. Sources reveal that the coach specifically highlighted issues with punctuality, effort in practice, and defiance of team rules.
“Coach Dutcher made it clear that he won’t tolerate any behavior that compromises the team’s success,” said a source within the program. “He expects every player to buy in and adhere to the standards set forth.”
