Taylor Swift has been noticeably absent from her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s recent NFL games, sparking curiosity among fans. However, sources confirm that her absence is not a sign of any issues in her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end.
Last season, Swift was a frequent attendee at Kelce’s games, making her absence at the recent matchups against the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers more apparent. But her nonattendance comes down to her busy schedule, as she’s currently immersed in rehearsals for the upcoming continuation of her Eras Tour, which will kick off again on October 18 in Miami.
It’s not just a matter of timing, though. Attending away games proves more complicated for Swift, as traveling to stadiums outside of the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium presents logistical and security challenges which have been heightened for the pop star, particularly following the cancellation of her Vienna shows due to the threat of an ISIS terror attack.
“If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns,” an insider told Page Six.
“She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”
Below-par performances
Kelce, on the other hand, has faced some criticism over his performance this season, with speculation that his off-field activities may be taking a toll on his gameplay.
However, insiders close to the couple suggest they’re handling the scrutiny well, using the time away from the spotlight to their advantage, allowing for a bit of a reprieve from the relentless public and media attention.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs continue to perform strongly, maintaining a flawless 4-0 winning streak despite the buzz surrounding their star player’s relationship.
