Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been suspended for four games without pay for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The suspension, announced by the league on Wednesday, will keep Johnson sidelined until Week 5 of the upcoming season.
Johnson, 27, has been a key contributor to the Steelers’ offense since his rookie season in 2019. He has amassed over 3,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in his career.

“Diontae knows he let himself and the team down,” Tomlin said. “We’ll move forward with our available players and prepare for the season.”
Johnson’s absence will significantly impact Pittsburgh’s receiving corps. Fellow wideouts George Pickens and Calvin Austin III will see increased targets.
