IKE LARSEN SPEAKS OUT AGAINST COACHING STAFF’S PLAY-CALLING DECISION
Logan, UT – In a surprising move, Utah State safety Ike Larsen publicly expressed his disappointment and frustration with the team’s coaching staff and their play-calling decisions. Larsen specifically pointed to the team’s conservative approach on defense, citing instances where they’ve struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks.
“We’re sitting back, giving them easy completions, and not making plays,” Larsen explained. “We have the athletes to be aggressive, to make game-changing plays. But we’re not being put in positions to succeed.”
Larsen’s comments echo concerns voiced by fans and analysts alike. The Aggies’ defense, once considered a strength, has struggled to contain opponents in key games.
“Coach Andersen has always emphasized the importance of player-led teams,” Larsen said. “As players, we need to take ownership and speak up when we see areas for improvement.”
